As a child growing up in the Cotswolds, I was always interested in the media, be that magazines or TV, and my dream was one day to work as part of a team on dynamic brands, creating exciting content.
Fortunately, I have had the privilege of working at some fabulous media companies – TimeInc, Hearst, BBC Worldwide, Haymarket – where I ended up leading commercial teams.
In doing this, I have met inspirational people and have always been incredibly motivated to ensure our teams reflected the needs of the business. And, most importantly, that the right people were in the right roles.
Over time my passion for people became stronger and I was fortunate to develop this further by becoming a head-hunter at The Lighthouse Company. Here, for over two years I led many searches for Managing Directors, Operations Directors, Managing Partners, Commercial Directors, Chief Insight Officers, Chief Executive Officers and Chief Strategy Officers. I was privileged to be able to activate my passion for people through working with amazing individuals and brave clients who put their complete trust in me to ensure a special person was found who would embody the spirt of their company.
One area I remained curious about was media agencies and so I spent nearly two years at Havas Media Group in new business and marketing. This was an incredible experience, but firmly made me realise my heart is with people and so I returned to headhunting and joined Grace Blue.
My combination of experience within media owner, head-hunter and media agency provides a unique insight on our ever-evolving communications landscape. I remain so fascinated by the diversity of people and satisfy that curiosity through people, by attending The Marketing Society’s industry events, championing women at The Solus Club and supporting our wonderful industry charity NABS.
I live in North London with husband Steve and am kept on my toes by my children, Samuel, Ted and Holly. In my spare moments, I escape to the sanctuary of the swimming pool, where I like to keep fit.
