I've been lucky enough to work in the advertising industry since I left university working for, and alongside, so many interesting, successful, creative and challenging people in agencies and clients alike.

Every seven years I have tended to develop an "itch" to try something new, to learn more and to stretch my communications business knowledge and skills.

I started my career in the very results-driven and commercial world of Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing for Europe's largest below-the-line agency IMP, part of the DMB&B group.

Seven years later, six of us IMPers decided to leave to join up with the creatively renowned above-the-line agency HHCL with the aim of delivering a truly integrated through-the-line offering to our clients. I eventually became MD, proudly at the time of the agency being awarded Campaign's UK "Agency of the Decade."

The next "itch" was the urge to start my own agency and with Charles, Rooney and Adrian, we got lucky with the opportunity to launch O2 and with it our own agency, VCCP.

We eventually sold to Chime Communications PLC and I moved into a Head Office role alongside the CEO and COO where I started Chime Ventures which backed start-ups in the wider world of digital, social content, PR, healthcare, research and sports marketing, eventually ending up working in the latter for CSM under the chairmanship of Lord Coe.

Alongside this, I had the privilege of being asked to be President of the IPA from 2013-2015 helping our industry adapt to the changing needs of the marketing communications world.

So roughly thirty years in and still itching to learn, I have joined up with Gay, Juliet, Jay et al to help develop their very successful business onto the next stage of their journey through building a broader offering to our clients. And with it hopefully to continue to work with many leaders from across our great industry to help them and their businesses develop for our mutual gain.
