I was fortunate in 1989 to land a job in the finance department of Ogilvy & Mather Direct. It was a busy and growing department and I trained with some truely amazing and inspirational people.
I left after 10 years to join a new start up as Finance Director at Harrison Patten Troughton (HPT). The environment was dynamic and thriving.
Within five years the agency was sold to the WPP Group and became Harrison Troughton Wunderman (HTW). As FD I was a key player in the sale and then subsequent merging of the businesses and stayed on as FD of the newly formed agency.
My main remit was to drive HTW to profit. This meant having to make some tough decisions, implementing cost cutting measures including many redundancies. It was a turbulent and challenging time but within three years I had achieved the goal and HTW became a big success story!
In 2007, wanting to spend more time with my children, I 'downsized', taking an interim FD position at Craik Jones which I loved, mainly because of the great people I got to work with.
In 2008 I joined Redfin LLP, a specialist financial agency providing primarily SMEs in the marketing sector a part-time FD function including financial, commercial and strategic consultancy.
Having recently joined Grace Blue (October 2013), I am looking forward to working with the team and getting involved in the exciting challenges ahead.
